FAQS

General
SpinVid is a mobile and web-based app that lets you create spinning vinyl-style videos using your music and artwork. It’s designed for DJs, music producers, record labels, and anyone who wants to promote music or products with engaging visuals.
SpinVid is available as both a desktop web-application and as a mobile app on iOS and Android. The desktop web-application lets you create SpinVids on your desktop or laptop through a web browser, which is great for when you want a bigger screen or to utilise extra editing features such as FX. The mobile app version is ideal for users on the move.
Yes! The core SpinVid app is free to use. With a free account, you can create SpinVids with many of the essential features, like 1-minute audio clips, basic effects, and standard video formats. We want everyone to have a chance to enhance their music posts. For those who want more, we offer SpinVid Premium as a paid upgrade with extra features (like longer videos, more effects, no watermark, etc.) starting from just £4.99 per month.
Premium users unlock a ton of goodies: the ability to add video backgrounds, use extended audio (longer clips or full songs), access an expanded library of visual effects and fonts, create content in more aspect ratios (great for Instagram Stories, YouTube, and making Spotify Canvas videos), and remove the watermark on videos. Premium basically gives you the full creative freedom to make your SpinVids truly stand out. Check out our Go Premium page for the complete feature list.
We’d love to help you out. If you have any issues, questions, or ideas for new features, head over to our Contact and Support page. Our support team (and the founders often themselves) will respond as quickly as possible. SpinVid is always evolving, and user feedback is super important to us – so don’t be shy!
All of the free features are the same across the desktop and mobile versions. Broadly the premium features are the same too, however FX features and partner perks are only available if you are a Premium Pro user, which you must sign up for via the desktop version. Check out our Go Premium page for the complete feature list.

Technical
Yes you can if you are using the mobile app version (iOS or Android). If you are using the desktop version, as it is a web application, you do need to be connected to the internet to use it.
Yes, SpinVid has been designed to allow users to upload static images and GIFs from your camera roll. Free users can upload static images or GIFs into the vinyl ony. Premium users can upload static images, GIFs and even videos into the background. Please note that GIFs must be saved on the camera roll of your device to be uploaded properly in the SpinVid.
Find the GIF again and re-save the GIF to your camera roll. Try to upload the GIF again. This will fix the issue.
Yes you can.
There are some limitations on the file sizes of images, GIFs, videos or audio which you can upload. These differ across the web-app version versus the mobile version as indicated in the table below:
Type Web-app version Mobile version
Images Maximum file size up to 5 MB No file size restrictions
GIFs Maximum file size up to 5 MB No file size restrictions
Video Maximum file size up to 100 MB Maximum duration of 10 minutes and file size up to 512 MB
Audio Maximum file size up to 25 MB No file size restrictions
You can upload MP3 or WAV files as audio.
A SpinVid which is 1 minute long should not usually take any longer than 30 seconds to render. If your SpinVid is longer than 1 minute it may take slightly longer to render. Also if your SpinVid is a little more complete, for example you are using videos in either the vinyl or background, or you are using an FX, then it may also take longer to render out.
